The GFWC Grundy Woman’s Club will observe Child Abuse Prevention Month in April with a special addition to its usual routine.
Typically, the club dons blue for its regular monthly meeting in April, as well as on ‘Wear Blue Day’ which is Friday, April 5 this year. Pinwheels for Prevention will be placed in late March, ahead of the month’s awareness campaign. And, a proclamation is already in the works for approval by the club’s local governing board.
However, this year, the Grundy Woman’s Club will promote a Facebook social media campaign, asking followers to ‘Like’ and ‘Share’ information about the signs of child abuse, resources available to parents and caregivers (via our GFWC Partner Prevent Child Abuse America, or PCAA), and help in reporting suspected abuse.
It’s just one more way the club is hoping to end the cycle in its own community, as well as its neighbors.
